LATEST PROJECT: Circuitree Magazine (Jan. 10 cover)
I wanted to test myself and my photoshop skills. And what better way than taking a beat up, old comic cover and and making it look brand new again. I probably put in about 15-20 hours on this project. My version on the left and the original battered one on the right. Tools used: Photoshop [...]
This is a simple pen and ink I did. I’ve always been a boxiing fan and was inspired after watching “Raging Bull” for zillionth time. I wanted it to look old school boxing, with referennces to Jake LaMotta and Rocky Marciano.
I was consulted to help Charlie improve his web presence. He had a simple yahoo template website. Charlie wanted something that looked a lot more professional and sophisticated. I was consulted to help Gene Ludwig launch his web site. Gene is incredibly talented jazz musician who plays the Hammond B-3 organ. I wanted to incorporate a “keyboard” style navigation, which plays off of Gene’s instrument. We also included a jukebox to sample many of Gene’s songs. This is a site I am extremely [...]
I was consulted about helping launch a website for a new building company, with a focus on using “green” materials. I wanted this to have a streamlined loook to it. So it kept you thinking, this was a clean site (and environmentally friendly.) Tools used: Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Rapidweaver
I was consulted to help launch a website for the local chapter of Sisters in Crime Pittsburgh. A writers group, focusing on writing mysteries. So I tried to incorporate a darker feel, with guns, police tape. To give it a real crime look and feel to it. I was able to take some pretty cool [...]
When I started work at Turning Point, they really had no web presence. I wanted something that would be a simple and clean design, yet easy to navigate with. Tools used: Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash
This was a really easy layout to bring to life. Absolutely beautiful photos. We have a student by day and stripper by night. I incorporated a “hand written” font to give the impression of being written in a diary of some sort. Tools used: Quark Xpress, Photoshop and a every trusty Xerox machine
I did this editorial layout at Pittsburgh City Paper. I remember thinking, how could I make and oldies DJ layout look cool. So I played around with the images and record that was provided and I was able to come up with this layout, incorporating an old 45 and a retro photo of the DJ [...]
