Service Description

Whether you're a tattoo veteran or getting inked for the first time, proper preparation can enhance your experience at our studio. While our knowledgeable staff and artists will take care of the essential aspects, there are a few things you can do (and avoid) before your appointment to ensure a smooth process. Here's what you should do: Prioritize a good night's sleep: Rest well to improve your pain tolerance during the tattooing process. If you're concerned about pain, discuss numbing cream options with our staff in advance. We offer it at our studio, so please inform us beforehand if you wish to use it. Stay hydrated: Keeping your body hydrated not only makes you feel better but also helps your skin accept ink more effectively. Well-hydrated skin is ideal for tattooing. Fuel your body with a nutritious meal: Eat a healthy, substantial meal before your studio visit. Proper nourishment will help your body cope better with the pain. Dress comfortably: Wear suitable attire for your tattoo session. Comfortable clothing is essential, especially for longer sessions, ensuring a more pleasant experience while getting tattooed. Consider personal entertainment: If you anticipate a lengthy session, feel free to bring headphones, music, or something to watch on your phone or tablet. This can help distract your mind from the process. While we provide music and TVs at the studio, having something tailored to your taste can enhance your comfort. Now, let's discuss what you should avoid before your appointment: Avoid alcohol the night before: Alcohol thins the blood, making it more challenging for the artist to tattoo you. Additionally, alcohol can make you feel run down and decrease your pain tolerance. It's best to refrain from excessive drinking before your appointment. Don't show up with damaged or sunburnt skin: We cannot tattoo damaged or severely sunburnt skin. Minor redness is usually acceptable, but it's advisable to avoid extensive skin damage or sunburn. Please take precautions to maintain the health of your skin. At Holmes, we want to ensure a positive and enjoyable tattoo experience for our clients. Following these guidelines will help you make the most out of your appointment. If you have any additional questions or concerns, our knowledgeable team, including our in-house Ink Physician and Safety Expert, is always here to assist you.
